Aimed at students of mathematics and the physical sciences Mahajan's book resents several tools and techniques for the problem solver to use in helping actually get an answer and not get bogged down with detail. The book presentseach tool in a chapter and each chapter has several examples of how to use the tool. The end results is a beautiful set of ideas that one can attempt to use on just about any mathematical problem. The chapter on dimensional analysis alonehas powerful things that most students will not have seen. There is really not enough positive that one can say about this book. If you are a student in mathematics or the physical sciences you simply must get this book and read it. Its the type of book that will make you further work easier and you will reap the benefits from studying it many times over. You will actually see yourself getting smarter as you read his text! With a book this good I simply could not just readit ... I had to work the problems and use the tools myself. This manual is my attempt at solutions to the problems posed in the text. The will be helpful to a student of this material or perhaps give you a hint at how to solve the problems yourself.
